So speaking of this crazy snow they are calling for in May I thought I would post some gorgeous engagement photos we took in February that ended with a cute wrestling match in the snow On our journey through downtown locations we ran across Midwestern Musical Co. which was gracious enough to let us incorporate Alex’s love of music and guitars. Emily and Kyle have been so much fun to work with from the beginning. So we were especially excited to start our 2013 wedding season with them! On the wedding day we were fortunate to get enough snow to create some really gorgeous pictures but not enough to cause any accidents and even luckier to have a bride and groom who were totally psyched and willing to get out in it! Because I think they are so beautiful I am going to start with the snow pictures after the ceremony then go back to my normal summary of events, ending with some gorgeous night time snow photos! You don’t want to miss these. Emily is one stunning bride! Reminds me of Liv Tyler, which I love I hope you enjoy this highlight from their wedding day.

Ok now back to the beginning of the day

Kyle chose his Father to be his best man, which was such a beautiful thing. Dad is nervously working on his speech for later

I love all the tears of joy and smiles during ceremonies. That is what this day is all about! Even I get teary eyed looking back on these and they aren’t even my wedding photos, lol. I feel so honored to be able to capture these moments for our couples. Our job is awesome

Yay for gorgeous churches and creative lighting. I love to create new and interesting images!

An added bonus to our first wedding of 2013. The reception was at the always gorgeous Sawyer Room!

Toasts are always a fun opportunity to get to know more about the couple and their friends and family. Joe almost lost it when the best man, Kyle’s dad, got up and talked about how speechless he was when his little boy, his fishing buddy and pride and joy was all grown up and asking him to be his best man at his wedding. Priceless

The best part about this shoot was I love playing with beautiful dresses. I have to give a big shout out to Emily Brown with Emily Hart Bridal for letting us borrow these dresses for our shoot. The beautiful swiss dotted one is from her very own Emmaline And of course we cannot forget the amazingly gorgeous and talented Sierra for modeling for us. Makeup, hair and styling was done by yours truly (Lora) and my talented husband Joe photographed and retouched these already amazing images to perfection. It is so much fun when we get to take a little break and shoot something just for ourselves and play. I am in the works of making some of my own simple but elegant dresses out of adult pettiskirts and lots of pretty fabric for our glamour and makeover shoots. Check back later for a shoot we did with another amazing model where I got to create the background and dress all from scratch

All weddings are full of special moments, love and laughter, but Kirk and Ellen’s wedding was especially rich in these areas. They are so laid back, full of joy and deeply in love with each other. The picture above is one of my all time favorite moments. I love how dad is looking back to catch this special moment between mother and daughter Melts my heart.

Later at the reception Kirk told everyone how amazed he was at seeing his bride walk down the isle and how gorgeous he thought she looked How sweet.

We only had a few moments for some creative portraits before they headed off with their bridal party to the reception. I really love this images we captured, especially the black and white one

They have such loving and amazing families. I loved the speeches and dances!

And you better believe they know how to party and have a good time!
